Jameson Distillery

The tour was engaging and entertaining.  Our tour guide did an excellent job and really knew the history of Jameson distilling.  Before the tour you receive a free cocktail that you can carry around through the tour.  At the end of the tour, there was a sampling of three different Jameson whiskeys.  All three whiskeys were smooth and full bodied.  One of my favorite whiskeys was one you cannot buy in the states.  This is a wonderful tour for whiskey lovers and everyone else.  I was not a whiskey fan before taking the tour, but I found it quite interesting and have drunk a few Irish coffees and other cocktails made with Jameson since the tour.  So yes, I am now a fan of Jameson.

Jameson was founded in 1780.  Jameson was a Scottish creation. The coat of arms on their bottles is a national honour.

One of the reasons why Jameson may be more expensive than other whiskeys is they distill it three times and it is also triple cask matured.

One of the most interesting facts for me was that only 10% of Jameson stays in Ireland but Americans love their Jameson.  In 2019 five million cases were sold in the United States.

Jamesons motto is “Sine Metu” which means without fear.  I really do love their motto.  Live your life sine metu.
